Spring Sports Preview: Boys Varsity Tennis

This spring, the boys tennis team is one to watch. After gaining many new freshman they expect to do well.

“I expect us to make it to states if we work hard and stay committed through the whole season,” said freshman player Nader Aalemansour.

A lot of changes have happened since last season. Including new player and new courts.

“We have some amazing freshman who have made the team this year,” said Aalemansour.

One of those players is  Aaron Thede. Even though he is only a freshman, he is the number one player on the team. The team has greatly improved with the addition of this year’s five highly talented freshman.

“The freshman will definitely contribute to our success. If not this year, they will next year,” said Thede.

The freshman aren’t the only key players on the team though. The sophomores, juniors and seniors all have great players too.

“Michael Shiu, Mark Geppert and Grant Tattersall are just some of the many great players on the team,” said Thede.

All the players expect the to do very well this year, but they will have to win some important games.

“There are many key games this year but the most important are the conference games against Stone Bridge, Broad Run and Briar Woods,” said Thede.

Almost half of the matches this season are against those teams. This season won’t be an easy one, but the players are positive and confident in themselves.

“It will be a long and hard road to states, but if we work hard and stay committed we can achieve it,” said Aalemansour.
