Ten Things You Know You Had Growing Up in the 21st Century

 

 Whether you were born in 1997 or 2001, all students at PFHS have one thing in common: we all grew up in the 21st century. Sometimes you might hear people say “It’s the 21st century,” but what does that really mean? Here’s a list of ten things you know you’ve seen, had, or done growing up in the 21st century.

 

  1. Apple products

 From Macs to iTouches to iPhones, if you didn’t have one, you were out of the loop. With homework needing to be done online and social media being the center for most entertainment, Apple products definitely makes the list of things you know you’ve had growing up in the 21st century.

  1. Moon Sand

 If you had ever seen the bright colored, supposedly non-stick sand, you know you’ve begged your mom or dad to buy it for you. With tons of different molds and colors, there was never a dull day with Moon Sand growing up in the 21st century.

  1. Car Carpets

 Whether you’re a boy or girl, you most likely had a Fisher-Price playmat, with either a car scene or a princess castle on it. On rainy days, countless amounts of kids felt comfort in playing with cars, or dolls, on their playmats in the 21st century.

  1. Netflix

 For a long time, Netflix was that service that was only used by parents or grandparents. Then, somehow it blew up and everyone had it. Whether you ordered movies through the mail or watched them online, Netflix most likely was, and still is, a big part of your life growing up in the 21st century.

6. Disney Channel

 “Old Disney Channel” is something that many 21st century kids hold near and dear. With shows like “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “Lizzy Mcguire,” and “Hannah Montana,” Disney Channel definitely makes the list for the top nine things you grew up with in the 21st century.

 For kids of any age, Barbie Dolls were more than just toys, but an escape into another life. Whether it was dolls, movies, books, or even Barbie inspired clothes, thousands of kids across the world spent the 21st century with Barbie.

 4.  MASH

 MASH (Mansion, Apartment, Shack, House) is a game played by kids all over that uses random counting to detect one’s future. Whether it was at school while the teacher wasn’t paying attention or while there was nothing to do, every 21st century kid played MASH to determine what their future would look like.

 3.  Nintendo DS

 Whether you’re a boy or girl, you most likely enjoyed playing on a Nintendo DS in the 21st century. With vast selection of games to chose from, with everything from pets to sports, most kids were saved from countless “boring” situations by playing on their DS’s.

  1. Trix

 From cereal to yogurts, anything with the Trix rabbit on it or had “Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids!” written on it made eating more enjoyable for countless kids everywhere in the 21st century.

  1. High School Musical

 The last thing on this list is High School Musical, a Disney Channel Original Movie loved my millions of kids. Sharpay, Ryan, Gabriella, Troy, Taylor, and Chad never failed to make any kid, boy or girl, smile in the 21st century. download (14)
