Key Club Prepares for their Annual Event and Invites Volunteers to Join

The Key Club is hosting their annual Trunk-or-Treat on October 29 from 1-3 pm in the school parking lot. The event invites kids to come dressed up and trick-or-treat through the trunks of cars.

“We really just want to bring the community together for a few hours of fun,” said senior Caroline Koon, Key Club president.

There will be other activities at Trunk-or-Treat like face painting and a cupcake walk for kids to enjoy. The event is designed for younger kids to come to Potomac Falls and get connected with the panther community.

“Trunk-or-Treat is a way of reaching out to future panthers and other community members, showing them all the good Potomac Falls has to offer,” said senior Asha Silva, Key Club vice president.

Other clubs in the school sign up to volunteer to work at the event – providing a car and candy. All elementary school-aged kids are invited in their costumes for some fun and sugar.

“It’s a treat to see all the little ones all dressed up for Halloween,” said Key Club sponsor Molly Rippa.

Volunteers will come at noon to set up before the event happens. Right now, the Key Club is seeking volunteers to pass out candy, bring their cars, and help with the event. “All of the volunteers can either bring a car to decorate and pass out candy or just come and help out on any other way,” said Koon

The Key Club also will host their annual Blood Drive on December 6. Those interested in donating will be able to sign up outside the cafeteria prior to the drive. You must bring a photo id when you donate.
