After receiving several offers over the last two football seasons, Dean Ferguson decides to wait it out before committing
The life of a varsity football player is a fast and hard one, but junior Dean Ferguson is taking it slow when it comes to choosing to commit to a college. While patience isn’t always associated with football, Ferguson is becoming a master of it. Since his 2016 season ended, he has received offers from University of Virginia, Virginia Polytechnic University, University of Maryland, and other Division I colleges. While the offers are compelling, Ferguson is keeping his options open, as he is still only a junior.
Standing tall at 6-foot-3, Ferguson is one of the varsity football team’s top receivers. But his talents are also on display while on the defensive side of the ball, where he plays safety. His size and talent make him a top prospect for Division I football teams. With lots of teams wanting Ferguson, he stays committed to playing at a high level. “It’s pretty cool to be talking to so many teams, and to have an opportunity to play Division I,” said Ferguson.
Ferguson says that the most important thing right now is to be patient and wait for more offers. “I don’t want to commit too early cause then I’d stop getting offers, maybe one from a school that I really want to go to,” said Ferguson.
In the meantime, Ferguson continues to play football for Potomac Falls, and he continues to keep himself in good shape.
