New Year, New Movies
With 2023 starting, many are waiting on sequels to their favorite flicks or anticipating the latest blockbusters. This year, Hollywood offers a lot of new movies covering an array of different genres from comedy to horror and romance in between.
Barbie – This year, Hollywood is introducing the live action version of Barbie which is set to come out summer of 2023. Early photos of stars Margot Robbie (Barbie) and Ryan Gosling (Ken) set the internet into a frenzy and the trailer, which debuted a month ago, only increased expectations and speculation as no real plot line has been released.
The Meg 2 – A long awaited sequel to one a fan favorite shark series, the Megalodon returns after six years of waiting. It’s set to come in the summer of 2023, starring Jason Statham who was in the first meg.
Disney Movies – Disney is releasing two new live action movies. Peter Pan And Wendy and The Little Mermaid, which stirred controversey when Disney decided to cast Halle Bailey as Ariel. The Little Mermaid is set to debut May 2023, meanwhile no official release date was announced for Peter Pan And Wendy.
Marvel Movies – The third volume of Guardians Of The Galaxy, is set to release in May of this year. Quantemania: Ant-Man and The Wasp is also coming out in February 2023 starring Paul Rudd and Hope Van Dyne.
Scream IV – For horror fanatics, another sequel for the classic horror story is set to debut in March of 2023 featuring actors like Jenna Ortega and Courtney Cox.
DC Movies – Movies like Shazam and Aquaman are all coming out this year with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom coming out on Christmas starring Amber Heard, Jason Momoa, and Nicole Kidman. Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be out in March, featuring Zachary Levi.
Super Mario Bros. – Nintendo has finally taken a step from video games to cinematic productions. Super Mario Bros is based on the Super Mario franchise and is set to debut in April this year, starring Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy and Jack Black.
Cocaine Bear – A new thriller coming out in February about a bear who ingests a duffel bag full of cocaine and goes on a rampage. This movie is based on true events when a black bear in Georgia ingested cocaine in 1985.
The Nun 2 – A sequel to The Nun, the horror continues and will be out in theaters in September starring Bonnie Aarons and Taissa Farmiga.
Evil Dead Rise – Another new horror movie that is coming out in April of 2023. It focuses on a woman fighting for her life when bloodthirsty demons start to roam Los Angeles and features Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan.
And a bunch of sequels – including Transformers: Rise Of Beasts (June 9), Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny (June 30), John Wick: Chapter 4 (March 24), Star Trek 4 (December 22), Dune 2 (November 3), Fast and Furious 10 (May 19), and Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes (November 17).
