Everyone needs a solid staple show to watch. From dramas to thrillers, here are seven popular shows to binge if you missed them, from the Summer of 2025.
“My Life with the Walter Boys”
The new season of “My Life with the Walter Boys” premiered on Aug. 28. It is a romance series about fifteen year old Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), who moved from Manhattan to a Colorado ranch after her parents perished in a tragic accident. As she adjusts to her new lifestyle with her new guardians the Walters, she finds herself in a love triangle with two of the Walter boys, Alex (Ashby Gentry) and Cole ( Noah Lalonde). The show was in the number one spot on Netflix’s Top 10 list for the week of Aug. 25 through Aug. 31.
“The Summer I Turned Pretty”
This young adult romance started to take off on June 7, 2022. Since then, the show has been one of the most popular young adult shows over the past three years. The most recent season was released on July 16, 2025. The young adult romance was ranked Amazon Prime Video’s most watched title globally within its first week of the new season’s release. The show is based off of 15 year old Belly (Lola Tung) who spends her summer at her Cousin’s beach house with her family friends, the Fishers. Over the summers, Belly has always considered the Fisher boys, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalengo), friends, but the summer she turned 16 her friendships soon turned into a dramatic love triangle.
“Ginny and Georgia”
Ginny and Georgia is Netflix Comedy Drama about Ginny Miller (Antonia Gentry) and her free spirited mother, Georgia (Brianne Howey) as they move to a small town in Massachusetts for a fresh start after the death of Georgia’s late husband, Kenny. The show focuses on Ginny and Georgia’s mother-daughter relationship and the many obstacles they go through throughout the show. When Ginny and Georgia’s new season was released on June 5, it debuted at No. 1 on Netflix English – language TV chart.
“Love Island”
A trending reality dating show that started on June 7, 2015 all the way to the most recent season on June 3, 2025, Love Island is a reality dating show where singles live in a villa in Fiji and have to find and maintain a couple with one another to remain on the show. The show is filled with heart breaks, friendship breaks, and lots of drama. With challenges and recouplings, America gets the opportunity to vote for their favorite couple, and the islandar with the fewest votes will be dumped from the island. The ultimate goal of the show is to win the 100,000 dollar prize. The islander that receives the money has the opportunity to split the money with their couple or keep it all for themselves. Love Island was the No. 1 streamed title among adults in the US. The show set the new record on Peacock for being the most watched Peacock original show on the platform.
“Dexter”
This American crime dramas most recent season was released on July 19, 2024. The show grew in popularity over summer 2025, taking over TikTok and gaining more viewers and fans. Due to its removal on July 19, viewers are still talking about the American crime drama. The show is about Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a blood splatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police department, who turned out to be leading a secret life as a serial killer all along. Throughout the show, Dexter “helps” the Miami Metro police find the “Bay Harbor Butcher” when it truly was him all along, which isn’t a spoiler but instead the entire premise for the series.
“YOU”
This psychological thriller debued on Netflix on Dec. 26, 2019. Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), an obsessive and dangerous man, has a habit of stalking women he becomes obsessed with by using social media to insert himself into their lives. The show took off during the Summer of 2025 after its new season was released in April. From edits to reviews, the show took off on TikTok over the Summer, growing its platform tremendously.
“Squid Games”
Squid Games is a dystopian, survival thriller-meets-drama featuring a group of financially struggling individuals who are invited to play deadly children’s games for a large cash prize, freeing them from their debt. The series was originally released on Sep. 17, 2021 on Netflix. The thriller went on to release two more seasons between 2024 and 2025. Over the summer, the show became a hit after the new season was released, becoming one of top Netflix charts globally.
