Students and teachers share how they plan to relax, travel, and enjoy their upcoming summer break.
Summer is getting closer. A lot of students and teachers are thinking about what they want to do during their break. Some people think the perfect summer day is about traveling and being outside while others think it is about relaxing at home and taking a break from their busy lives. Everyone has an idea of what summer should be like but they all look forward to having some time to have fun after a long year of school.
Giselle Marie Risma is a sophomore. She said her perfect summer day is all about spending time with her friends and family. “For me a perfect summer is hanging out with my friends, going to the mall and doing a lot of hiking, ” she said. Giselle Marie Risma likes to be active during the summer. She likes to explore the hiking trails around her area. Summer is a chance for her to make memories with the people she cares about the most and she likes to enjoy the weather.
Mrs. Thomas is a grade English teacher and she has a much quieter idea of the perfect summer day. “My perfect summer day is probably lying out in the sun and switching between reading and taking naps, ” she said. After a year of teaching Mrs. Thomas likes to take some time to relax and recharge. Her perfect day is about enjoying some quiet time and slowing down during the summer.
One student in grade said that traveling with her family is what makes summer special. “The perfect summer day would be when my family and I go on our summer vacation to another country, ” she said. This year her family is planning to visit Italy. Traveling gives her a chance to see places, spend time with her family and make memories that will last during the summer.
Katie is a sophomore. She likes to spend her summer in a simple way. “A perfect summer day for me is laying in bed and reading, ” she said. For Katie summer is a time to slow down, rest and enjoy a good book without having to worry about school work or deadlines.
Even though everyone has an idea of the perfect summer day it is clear that summer break is important for relaxing and doing what they like. Whether it is hiking, traveling, reading or just resting in the sun, summer gives students and teachers a chance to take a break and do their things. Summer is a time for Giselle Marie Risma to go hiking, for Mrs. Thomas to read, for the grade student to travel and for Katie to read. Summer is a time for everyone to do what they enjoy.
