Q&A with Spencer Buehler:

1.Why do you want to run for this position?

“I want to run because I’m interested in making a difference for our class and helping the class get involved in the community.”

2.What do you plan to do if you win?

“If I win I will encourage our class to work outside of school, like do volunteer work. Also, we will be fundraising for prom so I will think of interesting way to fundraise.”

3.What are some new ideas you have for next year?

“Some new ideas I have are to have more interactive advisory board meetings instead of just sitting around and talking. Junior advisory board is very important because of prom responsibilities as a class to fundraise.”

4.Why should people vote for you?

“People should vote for me because I will give my all to the winning class, some sort of reward.”

5.What makes you qualified to run for office?

“I am qualified because I have above a 3.0 GPA and I am in good standing with the school. Also, I like working with people so that will make it easier to fundraise.”

6.What are your favorite hobbies?

“My favorite hobby is playing baseball. It’s my passion because it’s what I’ve been doing forever and I fell in love with it.

7.Who is your role model? Why?

“My role models would be my brothers Jamie and Kevin. They are both older than I am so I’m used to them kind of bossing me around and bullying me in a constructive way, so they’ve made me thicker-skinned. Also, I admire the accomplishments they’ve had in the classroom along with what they’ve done outside of school.”

8.What is your favorite subject?

“My favorite subject is history. It is history because I enjoy learning about what happened around the world before I was here and how we got to where we are.”

9.If you could be any animal what would you be and why?

“If I could be any animal, I’d be a wolf. I think wolves are so interesting because they’ve been around for so long. They earliest drawing of wolves date back to 20,000 B.C. in eastern Europe. I think it’s amazing how long they’ve been around and how they are so similar to the most popular domesticated animal.”

10.Who is your favorite teacher?

“My favorite teacher would have to be Ms. Jennifer Bridges. I’ve had her class for two years and I love it. She teaches very well because she knows a lot about what is popular for kids our age so she can relate a lot to what we teens pay attention to. She makes class so fun because she doesn’t just stand up front and lecture us for and hour and 30 minutes, but she lets us be interactive and she shows us funny videos on the board so our attitudes are positive to begin class.”
