This year The Roar newspaper staff would like to recognize athletes for their exceptional achievements. We will be selecting one athlete each week for this honor.

Our inaugural athlete of the week goes to junior Jason Guintu for placing 10th in this year’s state tournament for golf. Guintu went to Middlebrook Country Club in Richmond on Monday and Tuesday for the state tournament. Guintu’s most memorable moment was “playing on the really nice course again and just having a lot of fun.”   Congratulations to Jason Guintu on his great achievement.
