With more than 160 confirmed kills, Chris Kyle is known as one of the most deadly snipers in American military history. Some people say, “No one should be a hero for killing 160 people,” I simply disagree. Kyle risked his life abroad to keep you safe at home, to let you be able to walk freely with no fear. Without men like Kyle, how could our military be such a success? How could we be one of the strongest nations in the world?

I understand how killing 160 people is a brutal thing to do, but he did as part of the war and his mission. As portrayed in the movie, his major objective in all of his actions were to protect the men around him and do his duty as he saw it. Without people like Kyle, we as Americans would not have the protection to enjoy the freedoms we savor.

American citizens need to understand that everything our military does, it does to protect the people of the United States. Think about Kyle this way, he killed those 160 people so that our troops could be safe and we would not have to worry at home. People that were in Kyle’s squadron used to think they were invisible when he was watching over them.

It takes a lot of heart to enlist in any branch of the military. Kyle was one of the people strong enough to serve. Anyone man or woman that decides to join a branch of service is a hero.
