Eight Epic events of 2015

8) Ray Rice

Baltimore raven’s running back Ray Rice was charged with domestic violence, with a shocking video of him beating up his girlfriend in an elevator. This resulted in rice being kicked out of the NFL

7) Ukrainian plane shooting

Ukrainian rebels shot a Russian airliner down, which resulted in Russia invading the country. the flight also claimed 4 American lives.

6) Refuge crisis

Thousands of Syrians fled their homeland to escape the fighting, tyranny of Al-assad, and ISIS. Many tried to enter Turkey and other European countries. Sadly, many died on their journey, and the Europe had no idea what to do with all of the refuges.

5) Donald Trump

Donald trump’s announcement that he was running for president was eye opening to say the least. His racist, sexist, and overall arrogant views shocked Americans, and is somehow still running high up in the polls.

4) Catlyin Jenner

On a brighter note. Bruce Jenner’s sex change was an inspiring tale of showing no fear of public scrutiny and being yourself. Now Caitlyn Jenner, she has earned Time Magazine’s person of the year award.

3) El Chapo’s escape

Drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman escaped for a Ciudad Juarez maximum security prison by means of an escape tunnel. The escape showed the power of corruption in the Mexican justice system. The leader of the Sinaloa Cartel was on the run until recently captured by Mexican federales police and Marines.

2) Paris attacks

ISIS launched a massive suicide bombing chain in Paris France this october. The attack claimed 130 lives and showed the world that ISIS is a serious threat.

1.Baltimore Riots

After teenage drug dealer Freddie Gray was killed in police custody, citizens of Baltimore caused massive unrest by looting businesses, arsons, and rioting against the police. The riots were justified by police brutality and racism. These events gave more power to the black lives matter movement that originated in Ferguson, Missouri.
