The Potomac Falls boys varsity lacrosse team is returning with many of the same players as last year, hoping to build team chemistry and have a different outcome from last season (record). Only losing one senior last year, the team is hoping to build off their experience and have a turnaround this year.

“[The team]  has to have a positive attitude and learn from our mistakes,” said senior Billy Martin.

Coming off a weaker season, the team has been working to improve their offense and put more balls in the net. The team will rely on their offense by using key players, juniors Matt Macioce, Ryan Schuilen, and senior Bill Martin. On the defensive side of the ball, there was not a problem for the team last year; their returning defense will be led by starters, juniors Colin Birch, Arthur Harris, and senior Nick Farmer.

“[We are definitely improving,] but we need to make sure we pass the ball well and take smart shots, and play defense like we did last year” said Schuilen.

The Panthers have been working on their shooting performance and what they need to do to beat their main competitors. The team is in a difficult conference with teams like, Stone Bridge, the winner of the state championship, Broad Run,  and Briar Woods.

“[Big games are] Herndon, Heritage, Rock ridge, Tusky, and all our conference games, we need to get those wins,” said Martin.

The boys lacrosse team will be looking forward to have a fresh start in the 2016 season and trying to make a run in the playoffs.

Stone Bridge 3/29: The Potomac Falls lacrosse team will face the state champion team, stone bridge lacrosse team in their second conference game.

Tuscarora 4/12: After splitting the regular seasons game 1-1 there will be high tension between the two teams in their match up.
