Congratulations to Shea Brady for being this week’s Athlete of the Week! Brady is a junior and has been a Varsity Cross Country runner all three years of high school, not falling short behind her three older sisters who also ran for Potomac Falls.

“I don’t know what my life would be like without running. I use it as an outlet, a way to bond, and an excellent way to exercise. Running has been apart of me for as long as I can remember and being able to be a part of such an amazing team is really a privilege,” said Brady.

Being the seventh runner on the girls team, Brady plays a very important role when it comes to competing. The top seven runners on a team score during the meets, so Brady is constantly pushing herself to maintain her spot and score points for the team.

“Workouts and meets are incredibly hard because I continuously have to push myself to make sure that I am always that seventh man or lower. It is a great motivation and always keeps me going. Coach [Dolph] Null and his wife are also always right there for me to keep me going when things get hard and in the end it is always worth it,”

After an undefeated regular season, the girls are running their way into the postseason as the regional meet is coming up. Good luck to Brady and all of our other cross country runners!
