Congratulations to junior Grace Deker on being The Roar’s Athlete of the Week. Deker has been on varsity since her freshman year of high school and has loved every minute of playing on the team.

 “I love playing basketball for the school team because the players are all so close and the coaches do their best to make practice the whole experience memorable and enjoyable,” said Deker.

 The team currently has a record of 2-8 but all of the girls are remaining positive and are excited to see how the conference games will go.

 “I’m excited to start conference play, which are the games that really matter, and hopefully have a winning record. My main goal for every game is to play aggressively from start to finish.”

 With a courageous goal and a headstrong team, Deker and the rest of the girls’ team are in for a great season. Good luck to the varsity girls!
