Spring Sports Preview: Girls’ Junior Varsity Soccer

A closer look at this year’s girls’ Junior Varsity soccer team

With soccer season starting up again, members of both the Junior Varsity (JV) and varsity girls’ soccer teams are preparing for the exciting games up ahead. Along with the typical love for the games and scrimmages, members are also looking forward to the team-bonding experiences and fun activities they get to participate in.

“I really like the girls on the team; it’s fun to get to know them,” said freshman Mia Valente. Valente has been playing soccer since she was five years old, and after making the JV team this year, she hopes to further her skills to reach greater heights. One of the things she hopes to improve upon is her shooting technique.
“I never shoot on my regular team, and I want to get a goal this season,” said Valente.

Sophomore Gina Badolato is one of the returning players to the JV team, and she is excited to help lead her team victory.

“[My goals are] to score, improve, and possibly be pulled up [to varsity],“ said Badolato.

Based on the experiences she gained last year, Badolato hopes to continue to learn and grow.

“I really liked last year a lot. My coaches were great, my teammates were great and I’m glad to be back,” said Badolato.

Key games this season will be against:

Langley at home on March 14 at 6 p.m.

Stone Bridge at home on March 23 at 6 p.m.

Heritage at home on March 31 at 6 p.m.
