As COVID restrictions decrease, live concerts have started to make a comeback in the D.C. area.

If you are looking for a reason to appreciate the area where you live, here is one: almost every concert tour has a stop somewhere within driving distance. Capital One Arena, The Anthem, 9:30 Club, Echostage, Nationals Park, FedEx Field, just to name a few. However, as concert season revamps itself, finding concerts to attend can get overwhelming and hard to keep up with. Organized by genre, here is a list of upcoming concerts coming to a venue near you. 

THE WEEKND, JULY 30, AT FEDEX FIELD: AFTER HOURS TIL DAWN TOUR

The Weeknd, aka singer songwriter Abel Tesafaye, will embark on his “After Hours til Dawn Tour” throughout North America after having it postponed at the beginning of 2022. The tour kicks off on July 8, in Toronto, CN. Tesafaye will make it to D.C. on July 30, at the FedEx field. This tour will include setlist items from his albums After Hours and Dawn FM, as well as others from his five album discography. Tickets are selling quickly, but they are still available, with nosebleed seats going for $54.50, and pit sears selling for around $300. OLIVIA RODRIGO, MAY 4,  AT THE ANTHEM: SOUR TOUR

Rodrigo’s first ever, highly anticipated tour, will kick off on Apr 2 and stop by Washington D.C. on May 4, 2022. Rodrigo will be performing songs off of her grammy nominated album, SOUR, including her chart topping debut single, “Drivers License”. LADY GAGA, AUG 8,  AT NATIONALS PARK: THE CHROMATICA BALL

Lady Gaga expanded her intimate tour for her 2020 album, Chromatica, from just six tour dates to 14, and Washington D.C. made the cut. Gaga will be coming to Nationals Park on August 8, 2022 for a rain or shine concert. The tour was originally scheduled to be in 2020, but had to be put on halt due to the pandemic. BEACH HOUSE, JUL 24,  AT THE ANTHEM: ONCE TWICE MELODY TOUR

Psychedelic dream pop group Beach House embarked on their Once Twice Melody Tour just hours after releasing the final songs from their 2022 album, Once Twice Melody. Following the success of their 2015 album, Depression Cherry, which featured songs like “Space Song” and “PPP”, the group of two announced their first live shows since the pandemic. The tour has been in progress since February, and will be coming to Washington D.C. in late july. RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, SEP 8,  AT NATIONALS PARK: 2022 WORLD TOUR

Red Hot Chili Peppers will be playing their first live tour with guitarist John Frusciante joining them once again. 32 cities will be visited on the tour and will include a plethora of special guests including “A$AP Rocky, the Strokes, Beck, Haim, St. Vincent, Anderson .Paak, Thundercat, King Princess, and more” according to pitchfork.com. LIL TECCA, APR 6, AT THE FILLMORE: TECCA LOVES YOU TOUR

Lil Tecca will be taking the stage on a tour for the first time in three years with the Tecca Loves You Tour. As one of rap’s most influential superstars, his North American tour through major cities for the second time, after his first tour, the We Love You Tecca Tour.
