The boys swim team starts off their season on Dec. 5 at Ida Lee Rec Center against Tuscarora. Coming off an undefeated streak from last year, the team will have to work hard to continue winning like they have.

Two time PFHS Head Coach, Deirdre Deker, has high hopes for the team this season.

“I hope that swimmers reach individual personal goals and achieve best times, but also that our boys team with 10 seniors out of 25 total boys team swimmers will win the conference meet this year,” said Deker.

Key senior swimmers this year will be Justin Touve, William Lin, Vince Marrocco and Sam McLean.

Building of last  season’s success, senior Justin Touve wants to perform even better this year.

“I want to try and rank higher. Last year I was one of the top five swimmers, this year I want to be top two or even win at the conference meet,” said Touve

The team may be full of great swimmers, but that doesn’t mean they won’t have some tough competition.

“Stone Bridge might be pretty tough because they have a lot of really fast guys,” said senior Luke Borman.

With a history of winning, the upperclassmen of the boys swim team have some important things to teach their new teammates.

“A big key will be leading the group of underclassmen to carry on some of our traditions and spirit. We have a great group of upperclassmen and hopefully they leave a legacy for the underclassman to shoot for in the next few years,” said Deker.
