Junior Sydney Knego played PFHS lacrosse last season as pictured. She is hoping for an even better season this year.

On March 16 the Panther Girls’ Lacrosse team will play their first game of the season against Loudoun County High School.  Junior, Sydney Knego is a team leader alongside senior, Maddie Thompson and the two work together to run drills and stretches for their teammates.  Knego predicts that this will be an especially strong lacrosse season given the team and their strengths.

“I actually think we’re going to go really far because we’ve gotten much better at  everything,” said Knego.

Knego plays midfield and has been involved with the sport for six years.  Her favorite part of the sport is scoring for her team.

“[Not] just shooting but also making it in the goal feels so good,” said Knego.

According to Knego, the coaching is similar to last year, but the team and specifically the offense and defense are collectively stronger this season.

“I don’t know, I just think we’ll get farther in the playoffs,” said Knego.
