Welcome to Party Squad, USA

Local band takes over Sterling

Party Squad, USA

In a blare of dropping bass and electronic noise comes Party Squad, USA. The band consists of Potomac Falls students who love music, just as much as they love to party.

Party Squad, USA is a local dubstep and electro band formed with five Potomac Falls students.

“Jessica Endara sings, Connor Hitchcock plays bass, Nick Garrett plays the drums, Blake Maxwell plays guitar, and I drop the bass,” said senior Connor Gallihugh, “We have a dubstep and Electronic Dance sound.”

With such high energy music, the band needed an equally as exciting name. Coming up with the name Party Squad, USA was a process and each component of the name has a meaning.

“I really wanted the word ‘squad’ in the name,” said senior Nick Garrett, “I thought ‘oh we’re not a band, we’re a music squad’. The USA part comes from that theres a party squad in the UK, so we figured we should have USA in our name.” For the rest of the name, the squad tried to find something they all enjoyed.

“We wanted to add something else to the name and something we all like is partying,” said Gallihugh.

The squad came together over their mutual love of music and performing.

“The band formed when Connor came to me with the idea of making a dubstep band to perform at Youthfest, so we got a band together,” said Garrett. The band placed first at the battle of the bands, which allowed them to play at Youthfest.  New members were later added to the lineup.

“I wasn’t part of the band when it originally formed, but I was asked to join a little while later,” said junior Connor Hitchcock.

There are very few dubstep bands, but Party Squad, USA has found inspiration from several artists.

“Skrillex is an inspiration, he’s everyones inspiration. Other influences of ours are Au5, Modestep, who is one of the only other dubstep bands, and Pendulum,” said Garrett.

Party Squad, USA follow in the footsteps of another Potomac falls band, Sub-Radio Standard. The band officially formed in 2009 and now has an EP on Itunes called “Where I’m Coming From”. Party Squad, USA has some ideas of where they will be in about five years.

“We’ll either be in prison, dead, or touring, not just the nation, but the world,” said Gallihugh.

With a passion for performing, music, and most importantly partying, Party Squad, USA is ready to take Potomac Falls and eventually the world with their dubstep tunes.
